My mom and I texted this morning, wishing each other a Happy World Cancer Day. We both survived our bouts with this disease that has taken too many great people from us. To be fair, some shitty people probably got cancer and died as well, but they are not worth celebrating. I wonder how that goes amongst their acquaintances. “Hey, did you hear that mean ol’ George, the dude who yells at kids and kicks puppies, got leukemia? Hell yeah! Miserable prick!”
