Each week begins with lab work. Whether it’s a chemo week or rest week, it all starts with the fine folks at Florida Cancer Specialists drawing my blood and running a CBC (Complete Blood Count) to determine my levels of white & red cells, along with the very important platelets that can keep one from bleeding to death. For the good chemotherapy does (it kills the cancer cells), it also lays waste to everything else.
Twice before yesterday, my platelets level dropped to a concerning level. I will try not to bore the piss out of you,
