One of the things you notice after being diagnosed with cancer is that the word “cancer” is everywhere. It’s my Zodiac sign, for crying out loud. I remember when baseball player John Kruk was diagnosed with testicular cancer decades ago. My fleeting thought was something to the effect of, “Oh, man…that would suck to have only one nut.”

Here I am, decades later, living with one nut.
