Sarah and I had a breakneck, thrill-a-minute, and exhausting weekend.
It began Friday, as I took the day off so we could check in early to the Mike Alstott (legendary Tampa Bay Bucs player) Family Foundation Charity Outdoor Weekend in Madeira Beach. This event is a highlight for me every year. I get to see and hang with people I don’t see a lot, raise money for charity, play golf, & stay at the Cambria Hotel.
We checked in and proceeded to have a fantastic weekend: great food and drinks, tons of smiles, and my first experience playing cornhole. I took Monday off as well so I could recover. Additionally, our friends Matt & D were hosting an evening of live music at their house in Ruskin.
Monday was a magical night. More smiles and laughs, catching up with friends, and carousing.
When Tuesday morning rolled around, I was flat-out beat. After tending to the cats and kittens at the farm, I was lying in bed and feeling every one of my 55 years. I heard the buzzzzzz of my phone ringing. I saw that it was my one-and-only son, so I immediately picked up.
