I can’t say enough how fortunate we are here in Tampa Bay. Another monster storm, forecasted and tracking for our vulnerable area, decided to veer away from us yet again. Perhaps it’s geography or topography, but I choose to believe that the Tocobogan Indians, buried in Safety Harbor, continue to watch over us and send storms crashing into other parts of our state. As happy as I am to have power and no structural damage or flooding, I feel awful for our neighbors down south. Northport, Punta Gorda, Ft. Myers/Ft. Myers Beach, and my favorite part of our state, Sanibel/Captiva, bore the brunt of this thing. As of this writing, they’re still trying to dig their way out of the mess.
