From the time I was a young kid, I’ve struggled with insecurity. I honestly don’t know from where it stems. I was raised in a nurturing environment by parents who are still together. Our home life was comfortable for me. I was a pretty shy kid, always preferring to have a few very good friends as opposed to a large amount of acquaintances. As I progressed through school, I found myself hanging out with kids much smarter than I. For some bizarre reason, I was labelled “Gifted” and was able to skate through classes with a C-average while the kids in “advanced” or “advanced placement” classes had to bust their asses just to pass. I was somewhat of a class clown, preferring to make my classmates laugh at my antics rather than focusing on the lessons that the teacher was attempting to impart.
