A Tight Circle
Choose Wisely
The recent influx of new subscribers, both free (boo) and paid (yay), has inspired me to write more frequently. I never want to write just for the sake of writing, but there is a lot going on in the cavernous space between my ears. It helps to puke it onto the screen of this MacBook and into your eyes. The past few days have been pretty much as expected. Sharing the news that I am fighting cancer once again was not an easy decision to make, but I am firmly convinced it was the right one.
On the other hand, it’s been really nice these past few months playing golf, going to concerts, and hanging out with people without them knowing I’m in “the fight” once again has been pretty awesome. No looks of concern on the faces of people I like, being able to do a radio show without the audience knowing…those parts have been pretty great. However, since sharing the news, I’ve received messages from both friends and strangers who told me that my story inspired them to get a PSA test. Or make an appointment with their PCP. Perhaps one of them will catch something in time to treat it. That’s why I shared the news.
You freeloading SOBs only get three paragraphs this time. I want to reward the people who gave up at least seven bucks to read my words. I mean, shit, you get my spoken words for free every afternoon on the radio. These take a little more effort, coming in my “free time,” so I have no qualms about selling these written words. Freebies, here is what I will leave you with: Choose Your Circle Wisely. I’ll explain in more detail on the other side of this paywall.
