There’s a sign in the hallway up here on the 3rd floor that says “one step at a time is good walking-Chinese proverb.” I’ve read it 44 times now. I know that because for my first 2 days here on the high-dose chemo and stem cell transplant floor, I’ve done my recommended 11 laps. The floor is a horseshoe shape, so someone figured out that door-to-door, 11 laps is one mile. So, I go from my room to one entrance, walk to the other entrance, smile politely at the nurses and techs with my eyes (masks are obviously required) and back to my door.
